DESCRIPTION:Eighth annual conference on caring for children with special ne
 eds\, their families and their communities.\n\nThe theme for the 8th annua
 l ABC (Autism\, Behavior and Complex Medical Needs) Conference is "Lives i
 n the Balance: Caring for Children with Special Needs\, Their Families\, T
 heir Communities\, and Ourselves in These Precarious Times." Hosted by t
 he Illinois Chapter\, American Academy of Pediatrics\, the conference will
  take place Nov. 17 at the Moraine Business and Conference Center in Palos
  Hills.\n\nABC Conference participants can expect to learn about the broad
  landscape of services and programs that are available to support children
  with special needs from birth through adolescence\, and develop skills to
  make effective referrals and partner with other agencies and systems. Eac
 h track (A\,B\, and C) features sessions that converge with different syst
 ems\, developmental services\, medical interventions\, and innovative part
 nerships that benefit children served across interprofessional groups. Bre
 akout sessions may be clinical in nature (though still meaningful to a bro
 ad audience) or they may address more community-based/relational content. 
 The keynote sessions address the overall theme of the conference.\n\nUIC's
  Division of Specialized Care for Children staff will be among the exhibit
