DESCRIPTION:A conference on autism providing professional development oppor
 tunities and resources for families in southern Illinois\n\nThe Autism Soc
 iety of Southern Illinois\, Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIU) 
 and the Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities (CDD) are hosting t
 he Autism Conference 2022 on April 22 from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.\n\nThe conf
 erence will be held at the SIU Student Center\, 1255 Lincoln Drive\, in Ca
 rbondale.\n\nThis day-long conference will be filled with learning opportu
 nities\, plenty of resources and inspiring presentations and speakers.\n\n
 The morning will kick off with keynote speaker Johnathan Martinis. Martini
 s is passionate about helping participants understand what supported decis
 ion-making is and how students\, educators and families can work together 
 to put the student in control of their planning and decision-making for th
 eir education and their adult life after high school.\n\nSessions will als
 o cover topics including:\n\n 	Challenging behaviors\n 	Individualized Edu
 cation Program (IEP) rights\n 	Evidence-based strategies\n 	Transition fro
 m high school\n 	Illinois Autism Insurance Coalition\n\nClick here for the

 e to attend the conference.  Information is also available on the Autism 
 Society of Southern Illinois website.\n\nEvery participant will receive a 
 certificate of attendance. Teachers can use this certificate to earn profe
 ssional development points (PDPs). Continuing education units (CEUs) are a
 lso provided by SIU School of Medicine.
