SUMMARY:Back-to-School Event in Marion
DESCRIPTION:Note: This event has been updated to a new location and format 
 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.\n\nA free back-to-school event is scheduled 
 for July 23-24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bi-County Health Department in
  Marion.\n\nDr. Amy Wyatt\, DMD\, will provide dental exams to children un
 der the age of 18 on a first-come\, first-served basis on both Thursday an
 d Friday.  Senior Dental Hygiene students of the SIUC Dental Hygiene Prog
 ram will also provide cleanings\, sealants and fluoride treatments.\n\nThe
  dental exam fulfills the state requirement that all children entering kin
 dergarten\, second grade\, sixth grade and ninth grade receive a dental ex
 am.\n\nAll participants will be required to wear a mask when coming within
  six feet of others.\n\nSponsors for the event include:\n\n 	SIU School of
  Dental Medicine\n 	Franklin-Williamson County Positive Youth Development 
 Action Team\n 	Burg's Hair Parlour\n\nDue to the COVID-19 pandemic\, organ
 izers will distribute donated school supplies\, including backpacks and ha
 ircut vouchers\, to students in need in Franklin and Williamson counties.
