DESCRIPTION:Summer camp fun for children and youth who are deaf or hard of 
 hearing featuring field trips\, sports\, sign language and Deaf culture ac
 tivities\n\nJoin the Illinois School for the Deaf (ISD) for "Camp 1839" fr
 om June 25-29.\n\nCampers will stay in the dorms and experience life as a 
 student at ISD.\n\nCamp 1839 will provide a wide range of opportunities fo
 r campers to make new friends\, develop lifelong connections and experienc
 e:\n\n 	Learning through play and S.T.E.A.M. (science\, technology\, engin
 eering\, art\, math) activities\n 	Exploring American Sign Language (ASL) 
 and Deaf culture\n 	Making a splash at the water park\n 	Playing sports\n 
 	Putting gaming skills to the test in friendly competition with their peer
 s and more!\n\nCamp 1839 is for students who are deaf or hard of hearing e
 ntering fourth through eighth grade in the fall.\n\nSee the Camp 1839 flye
 r for more details.\n\nThere is a $75 registration fee. (The camp will wai
 ve the fee if your child becomes a full-time ISD student for the 2024-25 s
 chool year after attending camp.)\n\nRegister online for Camp 1839. May 15
