SUMMARY:CAMP BETA at Touch of Nature in Makanda
DESCRIPTION:Overnight camp for children ages 9-15 with type 1 diabetes.\n\n
 Camp is scheduled for Saturday\, Sept. 22\, and Sunday\, Sept. 23\, at Sou
 thern Illinois University Touch of Nature.  Camp BETA is free to all camp
 ers who meet the criteria. Opportunities are available for counselors-in-
 training for ages 16-17.  Camp Check in is Saturday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.\n
 \nBelieve in Yourself - Diabetes can be better managed with a positive at
 titude.\n\nEmpower Yourself - You are the one in control\, not diabetes.\
 n\nTalk - Be willing to ask for help and communicate with the right peopl
 e about your needs.\n\nAct - Take action to help you body by being proacti
