 in Edwardsville
DESCRIPTION:Free overnight camp focusing on work-based learning\, college a
 nd job exploration\, and having fun for youth who are deaf\, deaf-blind or
  hard of hearing\n\nSouthern Illinois University Edwardsville's (SIUE) Cam
 p Launch will run from July 8 to 11.\n\nCamp Launch is a fun\, innovative 
 overnight camp for youth between the ages of 14.5 and 22 who are deaf\, de
 af-blind or hard of hearing. The camp offers a wide variety of activities 
 designed to equip campers with the skills needed to successfully navigate 
 life post-high school.\n\nCampers will stay in SIUE residence halls with c
 haperones and have fun exploring the campus\, taking field trips\, making 
 art projects and eating together at the Morris University Center.\n\nOther
  activities geared toward helping them transition from high school to coll
 ege and employment will include:\n\n 	Job exploration and counseling\n 	Wo
 rk-based learning experiences\n 	Postsecondary pathways and counseling\n 	
 Fundamentals of self-advocacy\n 	Understanding the Americans with Disabili
 ties Act (ADA and ADAAA)\n\nCamp Launch partners include ACCESS Deaf Servi
 ces\, Chicago Hearing Society\, the Department of Rehabilitation Services 
 (DRS)\, the Illinois School for the Deaf and 360 Degree Academy.\n\nTo att
 end camp\, campers must have an open case with DRS and be between the ages
