SUMMARY:Camp O for Children and Youth with Disabilities in Chicago
DESCRIPTION:Inclusive day camp for children and youth ages 6 to 14 who need
  additional supports to navigate new social settings and the joys of summe
 r camp\n\nJoin the Sonia Shankman Orthogenic School (O-School) for Camp O 
 from Aug. 4 through Aug. 15. Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.\n\n
 Camp O is for campers who have lots of passions and a desire to engage soc
 ially but also struggle with navigating the complexities of a new social s
 etting and forming healthy friendships. Camp O is open to campers with aut
 ism spectrum disorder (ASD)\, anxiety disorders\, attention-deficit disord
 er (ADD/ADHD) and other learning disabilities. Campers do not need a forma
 l diagnosis to attend.\n\nCampers will experience joy and silliness\, disc
 over new interests\, build confidence and make new friends!\n\nCamp O offe
 rs a low staff to camper ratio (1-to-4) and a wide variety of activities f
 ocusing on social and emotional learning. Activities will include:\n\n 	Wa
 ter day\n 	Team sports and Camp Olympics\n 	Dance and music\n 	Arts and cr
 afts\n 	STEM activities and more\n\nCampers must be able to maintain safe 
 behavior and remain in their groups without continuous 1-to-1 supervision.

 per two-week session. Limited financial aid is available based on need.\n\
