SUMMARY:Camp PALS - Elmhurst
DESCRIPTION:A week-long summer camp experience for youth and young adults w
 ith and without Down syndrome\n\nPALS Programs creates inclusive camp expe
 riences for people with and without Down syndrome. Participants with Down 
 syndrome are paired one-to-one with a peer without Down syndrome. Teams sp
 end the week together participating in a wide range of activities.\n\nTwo 
 Camp PALS sessions are scheduled in Illinois at Elmhurst University (forme
 rly Elmhurst College):\n\n 	PALS Chicago I -  June 26 to July 2 for campe
 rs with Down syndrome ages 12 - 17 ( 15 -17 for peers)\n 	PALS Chicago 2 -
  July 17 to 23 for ages 18 and up\n\nProgramming includes experiencing lif
 e on a college campus through a dynamic blend of unique on-campus activiti
 es and off-campus trips to explore local sites and attractions.\n\nNo expe
 rience is needed to participate in a PALS program.  All participants must
  be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to participate in programs.
 \n\nThe cost of camp for participants with Down syndrome is $2\,000. PALS 
 works with every participant to ensure that cost is never a barrier and of
 fers a variety of financial options to assist families. Contact PALS direc
