SUMMARY:Camp PALS in Elmhurst
DESCRIPTION:A day camp for youth with Down syndrome ages 12 and up\n\nPALS 
 creates inclusive camp experiences for people with and without Down syndro
 me. Camp PALS is open to young adults with Down syndrome ages 12 and up.\
 n\nIn a typical season\, each PALS camper is paired one-to-one with a volu
 nteer counselor with whom they room\, travel and participate in activities
  throughout the week.\n\nWhile the camp has made programming modifications
  to prevent the spread of COVID-19\, they are continuing to pair individua
 ls one-to-one for transformative friendship.\n\nFor summer 2021\, Camp PAL
 S will offer weekend daytime camp programs in which participants will take
  part in traditional PALS programming modified to protect the safety of al
 l attendees.\n\nCamp PALS Illinois session is scheduled for June 26-27 at 
 Elmhurst College.\n\nActivities may include swimming\, canoeing\, karaoke\
 , Olympics or a low ropes course.\n\nThe cost is $400 to attend. (There ar
