DESCRIPTION:An event for patients and families living with congenital heart
  defects (CHDs)\n\nThe Organization for Understanding Congenital Hearts (T
 OUCH) and the Congenital Heart Center (CHC) at OSF HealthCare Children’s
  Hospital of Illinois are hosting the Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) Awaren
 ess Symposium on April 23 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.\n\nThe symposium will be a
 t Jump Simulation Center\, 1306 N. Berkeley Ave.\, in Peoria.\n\nThe sympo
 sium is for patients (recommended age 12 and older)\, parents\, caregivers
  and families impacted by congenital heart defects. In addition to informa
 tion on the latest surgical and cath lab advancements\, symposium topics w
 ill include:\n\n 	Coping mechanisms for hospital-induced trauma\n 	A panel
  discussion of life as an adult with CHD\n\nAttendees may also visit a var
 iety of agency resource tables.\n\nRepresentatives from the University of 
 Illinois Chicago's Division of Specialed Care for Children (DSCC) will be 
 on-hand to provide information about DSCC's programs. Our team will also e
 xplain how we partner with Illinois families and communities to help child
 ren and youth with special healthcare needs connect to services and resour
