DESCRIPTION:A free\, performing arts day camp for young people who have exp
 erienced the death of a parent\n\nThe Auditorium Theatre is hosting Sessio
 n 1 of Hearts to Art Summer Day Camp on July 5 to 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  Session 1 is for children ages  7 to 10 (entering second to fifth grade)
 .\n\nHearts to Art will be held at the Vittum Theater\, 1012 N. Noble St.\
 , in Chicago.\n\nHeart to Art performing arts campers will work on develop
 ing skills in acting\, movement\, improvisation\, singing\, and more throu
 gh fun and exciting classes. Hearts to Art activities also focus on:\n\n 	
 Encouraging the healing power of creative play\n 	Inspiring communication 
 and collaboration\n 	Fostering emotional growth\n 	Providing friendship\, 
 compassion and community\n\nThrough interaction with young people who have
  experienced a similar loss\, campers understand they are not alone. Small
  group creative activities are facilitated by professional healing counsel
 ors\, providing campers a safe time and place to express and share their f
 eelings with peers. Healing counselors are also on-site throughout the du

 application now to reserve your spot. Space is limited. Spots are filled o
 n a first-come\, first-served basis.\n\nThe deadline for applications for 
 Session 1 is June 20. Limited transportation\, pre- and post-care options 
 are available.\n\nSession 2 for youth ages 11 to 14 will be held July 25 t
 o Aug. 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The deadline to apply for Session 2 is Ju
