SUMMARY:Illinois School for the Deaf Creative Arts Camp
DESCRIPTION:Themed camp for children who are deaf or hard of hearing in t
 hird through sixth grade.\n\nThe Illinois School for the Deaf (ISD) is off
 ering a Creative Arts Camp for children who are deaf or hard of hearing an
 d reside in Illinois. ISD is located on a 55-acre campus in Jacksonville\,
  Illinois\, and has excellent facilities with a well-stocked art classroom
 \, deaf-friendly classrooms\, two computer labs and various classrooms for
  ASL activities.\n\nParticipants will live in dormitories with two to a ro
 om on the ISD campus\, eat meals in the cafeteria and practice various art
 s in various classrooms. The camp will open on June 17 after 1 p.m. and 
 close at 1 p.m. on June 22.\n\nThe camp’s goal is to provide the partic
 ipants the opportunity to improve communication and socialization skills w
 hile learning dance\, art\, technology and ASL expression.\n\nThe deadline
  for applying for the camp is May 11.\n\nDuring the day\, participants wil
 l be taught a dance routine\, create a mixed media art project\, learn how
  to develop designs on a computer and participate in ASL expression activi
 ties. During the evenings\, various recreational activities will be offere
 d. An exhibition program will be held on June 22 beginning at 11 a.m. in
