DESCRIPTION:An event to get low-cost quality computers into the homes of in
 dividuals\, families and nonprofits with low income\n\nIllinois PCs for Pe
 ople is hosting a computer curbside event on Sept. 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m
 .\n\nThe event is at Trinity AME Alton Tech Aid/Trinity AME Church\, 626 E
 . Fourth St.\, in Alton.\n\nPCs for People is a national nonprofit social 
 enterprise providing affordable technology and internet service to low-inc
 ome individuals\, families with children\, those with disabilities and non
 profits.\n\nPCs for People works with various community partners statewide
  to receive and refurbish computers that are redistributed to eligible res
 idents to improve access to:\n\n 	Remote learning\n 	Working from home\n 	
 Telemedicine\n 	Other requirements of everyday life\n\nTo be eligible\, re
 sidents must be below 135 percent of the poverty level and enrolled in inc
 ome-based government assistance programs\, such as Supplemental Nutrition 
 Assistance Program (SNAP)\, Medicaid or Federal Housing Assistance.\n\nSig
 n up online for the event if you are interested in receiving a computer\, 
 internet or both. A customer service representative will contact you with 
 more details\, available financial aid and pick-up information.\n\nAnother
  computer curbside event is scheduled for St. Clair county on Sept. 24 in 
 Madison.
