DESCRIPTION:&nbsp\;\n\nA free conference at multiple Illinois sites for par
 ents of children who are deaf and hard of hearing and professionals\n\nNor
 thern Illinois families are invited to attend the “North of I-80” Conf
 erence for Parents of Children Who Are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. The confe
 rence is on April 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.\n\nProfessionals who work
  with these children may also attend.\n\nThe conference topics will includ
 e:\n\n 	All about technology accessories\n 	Fostering joy\n 	Growing up de
 af/hard of hearing\n 	Illinois services and supports\n 	Self-advocacy skil
 ls from school to home\n\nGeneral conference information to know:\n\n 	No 
 childcare is available at this conference\, but children aged 15 or older 
 are welcome to participate.\n 	Please make Americans with Disabilities Act
  (ADA) accommodation requests at least three weeks before the event date. 
 American Sign Language interpreters will be available at all conferences.\
 n 	These conferences are parent safe\, meaning they will not discuss the t
 opics of amplification or communication choices. All families\, regardless
  of the choices they have made\, are encouraged to attend.\n 	Financial as
 sistance may be available to help parents with travel\, lodging and/or chi
 ldcare costs.\n 	Illinois State Board of Education professional developmen
 t and continuing eduction credit is available for professionals.\n\nSee th
