SUMMARY:PALS Camp-Elmhurst
DESCRIPTION:A week-long summer camp experience for youth and young adults w
 ith and without Down syndrome\n\nPALS Programs inclusive camp experience f
 or youth and young adults will be held July 17 to 23.\n\nThe week-long ses
 sion will take place on the campus of Elmhurst University (formerly Elmhur
 st College)\, 190 Prospect Ave.\, in Elmhurst.\n\nPALS refers to participa
 nts with Down syndrome as Partners. Partners are ages 12 to 17 and should 
 be able to care for their hygiene\, work well with others\, and be ready f
 or a fun and exciting week away from home. Partners are paired one-to-one 
 with a peer.\n\nPeers\, ages 15 to 17\, participate in all activities and 
 serve as peer models for their Partners and team.\n\nTeams spend the week 
 together experiencing life on a college campus through a dynamic blend of 
 unique on-campus activities and off-campus trips to explore local sites an
 d attractions.\n\nThe cost of camp for participants with Down syndrome is 
 $2\,000.\n\nPALS works with every participant to ensure that cost is never

 cluding Peers\, are encouraged to fundraise for PALS. Fundraising helps pr
 ovide financial support to participants who could not otherwise participat
 e.\n\nNo experience is needed to participate in a PALS program.  Informat
