 ities
DESCRIPTION:&nbsp\;\n\nA free bilingual virtual workshop for parents\n\nThe
  Sibling Leadership Network in partnership with Supporting Illinois Brothe
 rs &amp\; Sisters and Latinas United in Love for Autism is hosting a virtu
 al workshop for parents of children with disabilities.\n\nThis workshop is
  scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27. It will focus on supporting the siblings
  of a child with a disability.\n\nIt will provide vital information and re
 sources.  The session will be bilingual\, and materials will be available
  in Spanish.\n\nSpeakers are:\n\n 	Katie Arnold\, Executive Director\, Sib
 ling Leadership Network - the Sibling Leadership Network (SLN) is a nation
 al nonprofit with state chapters that is dedicated to providing siblings o
 f individuals with disabilities the information\, support and tools to adv
 ocate with their brothers and sisters and to promote the issues important 
 to them and their entire families. Their work is creating a passionate and
  informed community of advocates. Also\, Katie works as the Director of Co
 mmunity Education in the Institute on Disability and Human Development at 
 the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her work is anchored to her experie
 nce growing up with her sister with intellectual disabilities.\n 	Shirley 
 Valladares\, Supporting Illinois Brothers &amp\; Sisters - Shirley is a sp
 ecial education teacher for students with low-incidence disabilities in Ch
 icago Public Schools. Her personal experiences and relationship with her y
 ounger sister with Down syndrome led to her studying and graduating from t
 he UIUC with a bachelor’s in Special Education and her master’s degree
  in Special Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is par
 t of the Supporting Illinois Brothers &amp\; Sisters (S.I.B.S) leadership 
 team\, an Illinois chapter of the Sibling Leadership Network (SLN). She is
  the oldest of three siblings. Her experiences have led her to advocate fo
 r people with disabilities and their families.\n\nVisit the workshop regis
