SUMMARY:SAM's Safety Fair in Rockford
DESCRIPTION:Free family-friendly event focused on safety and healthy habits
 .\n\nParents and children will have the opportunity to visit 30 organizati
 on's booths during the event\, including UIC's Division of Specialized Car
 e for Children\, on the grounds of SwedishAmerican Hospital.\n\nKids will 
 be able to meet local firefighters and police officers\; explore the insi
 de of an ambulance and fire truck\; learn about boat safety\; bicycle safe
 ty\; burn prevention\; pet safety\; poison prevention\; water and sun safe
 ty\; injury prevention and more. They also can participate in the bicycle 
 safety rodeo and receive a free helmet (while supplies last).\n\nThe event
  also will feature the SwedishAmerican Caring Canines and animals from th
 e Winnebago County Animal Shelter. In addition\, there will be an inflatab
 le obstacle course and a 25-foot rock climbing wall.\n\nKids can also mee
 t SAM\, Hammy from the Rockford IceHog and the interactive Sparky the Fir
