DESCRIPTION:Sensory-friendly planetarium shows featuring lights up\, sound 
 down and a relaxed atmosphere\n\nThe Staerkel Planetarium will host two "l
 ights up\, sound down" matinées on Dec. 16:\n\n 	"Santa's Secret Star" wi
 ll play at 3:30 p.m.\n 	"Season of Light" will play at 4:30 p.m.\n\nThe se
 nsory-friendly shows are great for guests with autism spectrum disorder\, 
 sensory sensitivities and young children. Everyone is welcome\, even if yo
 u don't need sensory accommodations!\n\nEach show will feature:\n\n 	Light
 s turned up\n 	Sound turned down\n 	A relaxed atmosphere where patrons can
  move around as needed\n\nSeason of Light traces the history and developme
 nt of many of the world's holiday customs and light-hearted seasonal tradi
 tions. It also highlights the historical religious and cultural rituals pr
 acticed during the time of winter solstice - not only Christian and Jewish
  but also Celtic\, Nordic\, Roman\, Irish\, Mexican and Hopi.\n\nThe plane
 tarium has a limited quantity of sensory supports available for guests to 
 use during their visit.\n\nTickets are:\n\n 	$8 for adults\n 	$7 for Parkl
 and students\, seniors 62 and older\, or children 12 and under.\n 	Free fo
 r members of the Friends of the Staerkel Planetarium.\n\nTickets are avail
 able at the door beginning a half-hour before the show.\n\nTo help plan yo
