DESCRIPTION:Overnight camp opportunities for children and adults with intel
 lectual disabilities ages 8 and older\n\nSpecial Camps is an overnight\, a
 ll-volunteer-run camp for children and adults with intellectual disabiliti
 es.\n\nWhile families and caregivers get a week-long respite\, trained sta
 ff and 24-hour nursing provide a safe place for campers to explore new opp
 ortunities encouraging independence\, self-esteem and friendships.\n\nSpec
 ial Camps 2023 overnight sessions will be held on:\n\n 	June 4 – 9 for a
 dult campers ages 23 and up\n 	June 11 – 16 for campers ages 8 to 22\n 	
 June 18 – 23 for adult campers ages 23 and up\n\nSpecial Camps takes pla
 ce at White Pines Ranch in Oregon\, Ill. Dorm rooms are carpeted\, air-con
 ditioned and have attached bathrooms.\n\nAlongside a teen volunteer and tr
 ained adult supervisors\, campers will enjoy activities including:\n\n 	Sw
 imming\, archery and outdoor sports\n 	Horseback riding and grooming\n 	Ar
 ts and crafts\n 	Hayrides\, campfire songs and s’mores\n\nSee the Specia
