SUMMARY:Special Camps Overnight Camp for Adults with Developmental Disabili
 ties Ages 23 and Up in Ingelside
DESCRIPTION:Overnight camp opportunities for children and adults with intel
 lectual disabilities ages 8 and older\n\nSpecial Camps is an overnight\, a
 ll-volunteer-run camp for children and adults with intellectual disabiliti
 es.\n\nWhile families and caregivers get a week-long respite\, trained sta
 ff and 24-hour nursing provide a safe place for campers to explore new opp
 ortunities encouraging independence\, self-esteem and friendships.\n\nSpec
 ial Camps 2024 overnight sessions will be held on:\n\n 	June 2 – 7 for a
 dult campers ages 23 and up\n 	June 9 – 14 for campers ages 8 to 22 (Cam
 pers will be in a group for ages 8 – 13 or 14 – 23)\n\nThis year's Spe
 cial Camps will be held at Camp Red Leaf in Ingleside where campers will e
 njoy activities including:\n\n 	Swimming in a heated pool\n 	A rope course
 \,climbing wall and zipline\n 	Archery and outdoor sports\n 	Canoeing and 
 fishing\n 	Arts and crafts\n 	Hayrides\, campfire songs and s’mores\n\nT
 he cost is $450 per session. Partial scholarships may be available.\n\nSee
