DESCRIPTION:A social event for children with disabilities ages 5 to 21\n\nT
 his April "social club" event is an opportunity for children with disabili
 ties to cultivate friendships\, foster peer relationships and work to deve
 lop and support social skills. It is sponsored by Springfield Public Scho
 ols\, UCP Land of Lincoln\, The Autism Clinic (TAC) and the Springfield Pa
 rk District.\n\nChildren will participate in a social skills lesson\, eat 
 dinner with peers and a volunteer or staff member\, play games and enjoy s
 ocial time. Staff and volunteers will help facilitate conversation and pro
 vide social skill support.\n\nParents will dine together and later hear f
 rom a variety of agencies and resources in the area.\n\nChick-fil-A in Spr
 ingfield is donating dinner. Families are welcome to provide their own me
 al if allergies or sensory issues are a concern.\n\nThe deadline to regist
 er is April 3. The event is limited to the first 25 children registered.\n
