 dren with Complex Medical Needs
DESCRIPTION:This free in-person training will take place July 24-25 at UIC
 ’s Simulation and Integrative Learning Center in Chicago.\n\nA special i
 n-person training program for the families and caregivers of children with
  complex medical needs is happening on July 24-25 in Chicago.\n\nThis free
  two-day training will take place at the University of Illinois Chicago (U
 IC) Simulation and Integrative Learning (SAIL) Center on the fifth floor 
 at 1220 S. Wood St. in Chicago.\n\nFamilies have expressed the need for mo
 re support for parents/caregivers of children with complex medical needs. 
 UIC's Division of Specialized Care for Children is excited to partner with
  Almost Home Kids to provide this valuable training opportunity. It will o
 ffer essential tools and knowledge to help you in your caregiving journey.
 \n\nThe training will be from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. The in-depth c
 urriculum will include:\n\n 	Reducing the risk of infection\n 	Skin care\n
  	Daily care of the child with a tracheostomy and ventilator\n 	Activity a
 nd movement\n 	Equipment and alarms\n 	Gastrostomy care and feeding\n 	Tra
 cheostomy basics\n 	Respiratory assessment and interventions\n 	Ventilator
  training with hands-on practice\n 	Emergency preparedness\n 	Caregiver re
 siliency and well-being\n 	Simulation learning experience\n\nYou can also
