DESCRIPTION:A free training workshop on transition from school to adult ser
 vices for youth in high school\, young adults and their parents\n\nFamily 
 Matters Parent Training &amp\; Information Center (FMPTIC) is hosting "Tra
 nsition From School to Adult Services" on Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.\
 n\nThis workshop will be at the Peoria Public Library\, Lakeview Branch\, 
 1137 W. Lake Ave.\, in Peoria.\n\nIn this workshop\, participants will loo
 k at the different pieces that need to come together for the transition fr
 om school to adult services.  This training will include information on:\
 n\n 	Transition in the Individualized Education Program (IEP)\n 	The trans
 ition components of employment\, independent living\, postsecondary educat
 ion or training\, and community involvement\n 	The transfer of parental ri
 ghts\n\nSign up online to attend. The deadline to register is Oct. 7.\n\nP
 lease register early. The event needs a minimum of 15 people to sign up.\n
