DESCRIPTION:A free in-person workshop exploring the impact of early childho
 od trauma\, fostering healthy development\, and providing support through 
 IEP and 504 plans\n\nJoin STAR NET Region I and III and the East Moline Sc
 hool District for "Trauma’s Influence on the Play of Young Children With
  Disabilities" on April 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.\n\nHaving a disability may
  put children at greater risk for child abuse and medical trauma.\n\nLearn
  from presenter Elizabeth Frisbie how experiencing trauma can affect:\n\n 
 	The way a child plays\n 	Interactions with peers\n 	A child’s cognitive
  development and capacity for engagement\n\nFrisbie will also provide part
 icipants with tips and key steps for:\n\n 	Fostering play skills\n 	Creati
 ng an environment for healthy development\n 	Ensuring supports are in the 
 Individual Education Program (IEP) and 504 plans\n\nFrisbie has worked wit
 h young children\, their families and educators for over 25 years as a psy
 chotherapist\, behavior specialist\, mental health consultant and parent e
 ducator.\n\nParticipants should have basic trauma training before taking t
