DESCRIPTION:A virtual conference for people with disabilities\, their careg
 ivers and professionals covering Illinois healthcare coverage options\, im
 portant services and benefits\n\nThe Arc of Illinois Family-to-Family Heal
 th Information Center is hosting the "Uniting Healthcare\, Advocacy and Di
 sability" symposium on Zoom on Sept. 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.\n\nThis dayl
 ong\, virtual event will cover a wide range of topics and resources.\n\nWh
 ile many of the presentations will focus on children ages birth to 22\, mu
 ch of the information applies to people with disabilities of all ages and 
 stages.\n\nAttendees will learn:\n\n 	How to get help for people with disa
 bilities through the Family-to-Family program and other The Arc of Illinoi
 s programs\n 	What The Autism Program of Illinois is and how to get diagno
 stic and therapeutic help for people with autism\n 	What Medicaid waivers 
 are available for children and youth in Illinois and how parents may be ab
 le to be paid for providing care in these programs\n 	How children and you
 ng adults can have their healthcare needs met in schools through effective
  Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans\n 	How everyone ca
 n take part in disability advocacy by turning small ideas into major advoc
 acy efforts\n 	How to support family caregivers through the continuum of c
 aregiving\, from diagnosis onward\n\nPresenters will include our Home Care
  Family Outreach Associate Erica Stearns\, who is also the creator and hos
 t of the Atypical Truth podcast and co-founder of Caffeinated Caregivers.
   Stearns is the mother of two children with a rare genetic disorder. She
  was also born with rare birth defects.\n\nStearns will present with her C
 affeinated Caregivers co-founder Alyssa Nutile on "Navigating the Caregive
 r Continuum: From Diagnosis to Advocacy." Their presentation will provide 
 crucial insights into delivering personalized support that enhances the we
 ll-being of both caregivers and their families\, fostering a healthier\, b
 etter-informed caregiving community.\n\nThe cost to attend the conference 
 is:\n\n 	Members of The Arc of Illinois are $80 per professional and $20 p
 er self-advocate/family member.\n 	Non-members are $140 per professional a
 nd $55 per self-advocate/family member.\n 	Families with children under 22
  can also attend for free by filling out this stipend form.\n\nSee the con
