 t can help during meltdowns\n\nIllinois STAR NET Northern Region II's Fall
  Family Webinar Series continues with "Anatomy of a Meltdown" on Oct. 18 f
 rom 7 to 8:30 p.m.\n\nIt’s easy to get overwhelmed\, frustrated and even
  angry when a child is having a meltdown.  This experience is hard for bo
 th the person having the meltdown as well as for anyone present at the tim
 e.\n\nUnderstanding the anatomy of a meltdown can help anyone who cares fo
 r children to be better equipped to offer help and support during these di
 fficult times.\n\nPresenter Jennifer Rosinia will begin with a review of t
 he stress response system and sensory processing. Building on this informa
 tion\, participants will learn what happens to the body when feeling overw
 helmed\, under attack\, hijacked and helpless.\n\nShe will also discuss an
 d describe the three distinct stages of a meltdown and how to identify som
 e triggers\, signs and symptoms that may indicate a meltdown is starting. 
 Participants will also learn how to:\n\n 	Know the difference between a ta
 ntrum and a meltdown\n 	Recognize sensory processing challenges\n 	List so
 me triggers\, signs and symptoms that occur at the beginning of a meltdown
 \n 	Design prevention and intervention strategies appropriate at each stag
 e of a meltdown\n 	Identify specific diagnoses that are prone to having me
