  on Disability and Human Development\, University of Illinois Chicago (UIC
 )\, has an array of academic\, clinical\, research and technical assistanc
 e programs focusing on reducing barriers for people with disabilities.\n\n
 Presenter Dr. Tamar Heller\, Ph.D.\, will provide information about severa
 l new and existing programs\, including:\n\n 	The Co-Op Career Experience 
 for Students with Intellectual Disabilities\n 	Disability Legal Studies ce
 rtificates\n 	LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related
  Disabilities)\n\nShe will also cover these programs and resources and how
  to access them:\n\n 	The Assistive Technology Unit\n 	The Family Clinic a
 nd new Cognitive\, Behavior and Mindfulness Clinic\n 	Research on health\,
  aging\, community inclusion\, employment\, and disability arts and cultur
 e\n 	Technical assistance and community service through the Great Lakes AD
 A Center\n 	Peer support groups\n\nDr. Heller is the Head of UIC's Departm
 ent of Disability and Human Development and director of its University Cen
 ter of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities for the state of Illinois.
 \n\nShe has active projects on family support and health promotion interve
 ntions for individuals with disabilities and has presented at numerous maj
 or conferences on family support interventions and policies\, self-determi
 nation\, health promotion and aging of people with disabilities.\n\nRegist
