 rstanding of needs\, barriers and strategies for supporting LGBTQ+ young p
 eople\n\nPrevent Child Abuse Illinois (PCA) will host "Supporting LGBQT+ Y
 outh: The Why and How" on June 17 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.\n\nThis introducto
 ry workshop is for anyone and everyone who wants to learn how to support L
 GBTQ+ young people.\n\nPresenter Julio Flores is a seasoned leader\, strat
 egist and program director for the Illinois Safe Schools Alliance. He spea
 rheads initiatives supporting LGBTQ+ youth by blending policy advocacy\, e
 ducation and youth organizing to foster safety and development in Illinois
 .\n\nThis workshop will focus on the experiences and needs of LGBTQ+ young
  people and includes opportunities for:\n\n 	Reflection\, dialogue and ski
 ll-building\n 	Identifying strategies for creating more affirming environm
 ents\n 	Gaining familiarity with the language and terminology that LGBTQ+ 
 youth use\n 	Building an understanding of common needs\, barriers and prot
