 l health of adolescents due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the importance of
  addressing mental health in teens\n\nJoin the Illinois chapter of the Ame
 rican Academy of Pediatrics (ICAAP) for "The Mental Health of Adolescents:
  During COVID-19 and Beyond" on Jan. 27 from 12 - 1 p.m.\n\nIn a recent pu
 blic advisory "Protecting Youth Mental Health\," U.S. Surgeon General Vive
 k H. Murthy\, MD\, MBA\, stated that "the challenges today’s generation 
 of young people face are unprecedented and uniquely hard to navigate. And 
 the effect these challenges have had on their mental health is devastating
 ."\n\nAccording to this advisory\, mental\, emotional\, developmental or b
 ehavioral disorders have been reported in about 20 percent of children age
 s 3-17 years and many are not receiving adequate treatment.\n\nParticipant
 s in this adolescent health webinar will examine the many factors impactin
 g the mental health of adolescents due to the COVID-19 pandemic and learn 
 more about:\n\n 	The importance of mental health and overall well-being\n
