 r using visual support to promote learning for children ages 3 to 5 with d
 isabilities\n\nSTAR NET Region IV is hosting "Visual Support Strategies" o
 n Feb. 22 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Check-in begins at 6:55 p.m.\n\nThis present
 ation is for families and professionals who work with children ages 3 to 5
  with disabilities.\n\nOur children’s brains are more visual than previo
 us generations. Meeting those needs for learning language and supporting 
 behavioral challenges means more intense work using strategies to help sup
 port their cognitive levels.\n\nFocusing on the needs of families\, presen
 ter Kathy Morris's presentation will include:\n\n 	Tips for using keychain
  rules\, power cards and social stories\n 	Practical strategies for suppor
 ting cognitive development and preventing behavioral challenges\n 	Videos 
 and visual examples\n\nMorris has been an educator for 46 years and presen
 ts all over the world. Morris and her husband\, Guy\, “walked the walk a
 nd talked the talk” after the premature birth of their twin sons\, Kirk 
 and Drew. They are recipients of The ARC Lifetime Achievement Award for th
 eir lifelong professional and personal work with people with disabilities.
