 -based mental health programs\n\nJoin the Substance Abuse and Mental Healt
 h Services Administration (SAMHSA) and Mental Health America for "Youth In
  Crisis: Supporting Youth Through School and Clinic-Based Mental Health Pr
 ograms" on April 3 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.\n\nThe National Alliance on Me
 ntal Illness (NAMI) states that one in six children and adolescents ages 6
  to 17 years old will experience an adverse childhood experience and/or se
 rious mental illness. Fifty percent of those mental health disorders will 
 surface around the age of 14.\n\nTrauma can harm children emotionally\, ps
 ychologically and biologically. Left untreated\, these experiences can lea
 d to a variety of challenges.\n\nIn this webinar\, participants will learn
  about:\n\n 	Unhealthy coping skills and how they can impact academic succ
 ess and developmental growth\n 	Strategies for addressing trauma\, grief a
 nd other barriers that can negatively impact mental health\n 	Working coll
 aboratively with school and community partners to reduce the negative impa
 ct of adverse childhood experiences on student learning and growth\n 	Incr
 easing awareness of how to implement trauma-informed practices through a s
 chool-based mental health program\n\nThe presenters are with Dallas Indepe
 ndent School District. They will share their insight and experiences on ma
 king mental health services available for their students.\n\nRegister for
