 afety needs and teach these targeted skills\n\nJoin Florissa Center for th
 is free workshop "Teaching Safety Skills to Children with ASD" on April 7 
 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Dixon Elks Lodge\, 1279 Franklin Grove Road\, in Dixon.
 \n\nWorkshop presenter and facilitator Mary Wrobel is an award-winning aut
 hor\, teacher and speech-language pathologist who has taught and worked wi
 th students with autism and other disabilities for more than 25 years.\n\n
 Wrobel will help parents determine a child's safety needs and how to teach
  these specific\, targeted safety skills using social stories\, visual sup
 ports\, rules and guidelines. Participants will also learn different ways 
 to encourage children with autism and related disabilities to practice the
 se skills safely.\n\nTeachers\, social workers and other professionals can
  also benefit from this workshop.\n\nRegister for this workshop by March 2
