Family Matters Parent Training and Information Center (Family Matters PTIC) will host “Back-to-School Success for Students with Disabilities: Tools for a Smooth Transition” on Aug. 13 from 10 to 11 a.m.
Is your child, student or client with a disability ready to return to school after summer break?
Start the year strong with this in-depth training featuring evidence-based strategies to prepare for a confident and supported school transition.
Participants will learn about:
- Recognizing post-summer regression
- Determining if Extended School Year (ESY) services are needed
- Re-establishing daily routines and promoting social-emotional readiness
- Reviewing and updating Individual Education Programs (IEPs), 504 Plans and response to intervention (RTI) supports
- Using the Charting the LifeCourse One-Pager to elevate student voice and personalize supports
The training will also include:
- Real-life examples
- Strategies and tools
- Questions participants can take with them to their next IEP or 504 meeting
