COVID-19 Resources

  • Early Intervention Clearinghouse Technology Loan Program

    The Illinois Early Intervention Clearinghouse (EIC) technology loan program helps families in early intervention participate in live video visits or telehealth. Available technology includes:

    • iPad with a data plan (you are requesting a device for live video visits that also has an internet plan)
    • iPad without a data plan (you are requesting a device for live video visits and already have internet access)
    • Hotspot (you have a device for live video visits but require internet access)

    Quantities are limited. To apply to receive the technology, please complete a device loan request form. (The device loan request form is also available in Spanish.)

    The EIC also provides tips on preparing for a live video visit.

    Many families are struggling to piece together continuity of care for their children with special health care needs during the pandemic. Easing the Financial Burden on Family Caregivers: Translating 1915(c) Appendix K, an article from the Center for Health Care Strategies, discusses options for states to assist families, including paid family caregiving.

  • Easy to Read COVID-19 Safety Resources

    The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) posted “Easy-to-Read COVID-19 Safety” resources on its website.

  • Education and Parenting During COVID-19

    Family Matters Parent Training & Information Center provides a list of resources to help parents navigate their child’s education needs during the pandemic.

  • Egyptian Health Department

    The Egyptian Public & Mental Health Department provides resources and support to Southern Illinois residents in Saline, Gallatin, White, and Wayne counties. The department provides public health and mental health services, prevention and recovery programs, education workshops, family case management services, food and water safety, and more.

    The Egyptian Public & Mental Health Department has offices in Eldorado, Harrisburg (Saline County), Carmi (White County), and Shawneetown (Gallatin County).

  • Electronic Portal for SSI Recipients

    The IRS has an electronic portal to assist people on SSI and other non-filers in receiving their stimulus payments.  Individuals can go to the portal, enter their personal information and that information will be utilized to send them a stimulus payment.

  • Emergency and Transitional Housing Program

    The Emergency and Transitional Housing Program in Illinois gives immediate and comprehensive shelter services to people who are homeless and people at risk of becoming homeless. Services are provided at shelters run by nonprofit organizations and local governments. for more information, see the Emergency and Transitional Housing Provider List.

  • Emergency Child Care for Communities & Providers

    This page from the Governor’s Office of Early Childhood Development contains information and resources on emergency child care for essential workers, child care providers and volunteers who want to offer support.

  • Emergency Preparedness Planning for Families and People with Disabilities

    Ready.gov provides emergency preparedness tools and information to help families before, during and after disasters. This site includes:

  • Emotional Well-Being Toolkit: Resources for Children, Families and Caregivers

    The responsibility of parents and caregivers are many, and these responsibilities can be even more overwhelming during this COVID-19 pandemic. The Illinois Pyramid Model State Leadership Team, in collaboration with the Governor’s Office of Early Childhood Development has developed an Emotional Well-being Toolkit: Resources for Children, Families, & Caregivers to help manage stressors and promote wellness during these challenging times.
